Important library services

The UNSW Library has an extensive collection of books, journals, electronic resources, and audio-visual materials to support study and research in the area of psychology.

 

Information Desks

The Library Help Zone is on Level 2. Library staff can:

• advise you about where to start when researching a topic;
• advise you about the various types of resources available and how to use them;
• help you find material, printed, electronic, or audiovisual, available in or via the Library;
• help you find where material is located in other libraries.

High Use Collection

• Heavy demand items Many lecturers place items from reading lists in the High Use Collection. The Library catalogue indicates if an item is held there.
• Lecture cassettes Taped copies of lectures are also available for many courses.
• Items from High Use Collection may only be borrowed for 2 hours or on overnight loan.
• You can find all the items for a course in High Use Collection by typing in the course code via the Web Catalogue.

Access to Library Services via the Internet

• The Library provides many services through the Internet, including the Library catalogue, many research databases and electronic journals. Access to these and other Internet services including email, lecture notes etc. is available:
• at computers in the Library;
• in computer laboratories located in schools throughout the UNSW campus (by arrangement with the school); and
• from home
