The Library Catalogue
If you need to find a particular reference in the library, or to find a range of resources on a given subject or written by a particular author, you will need to use the UNSW Library Catalogue.
This a database of the Library's collection. It gives details of every item which is either held or electronically available via UNSW Library.
You should use the Library Catalogue to:
| Library catalogue essentials | Note | Read more | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| a. Author and Title keyword search | Very useful for looking up references in a reading list, subject bibliography and known item searching. e.g. Campbell, N.A., Reece, J.A., and Mitchell, L.G. (1999). Biology, 5th Edition. Menlo Park: Benjamin/Cummings. |

| b. Searching items on a Topic | Use the topical keyword search when the Library Catalogue does not have a subject heading matching your searched term. e.g You would like to look up books about laboratory report writing for psychology.
